Data Scientist AI / Machine Learning

About the Assignment:

The client is seeking skilled Data Scientists to support a cross-functional AI initiative focused on enhancing customer-facing digital services. The selected consultants will be part of an Analysis/AI team, collaborating closely with IT professionals and business stakeholders.

The primary objective of this assignment is to design and develop an intelligent customer chat solution within the Microsoft Azure environment. This solution will handle both general inquiries and personalized, data-driven responses using customer and operational data.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and refine LLM-based solutions integrated with existing AI agents
• Develop, train, and validate machine learning models used in customer interaction platforms
• Leverage structured and unstructured datasets, including customer, facility, and measurement data, to enable personalized chat responses
• Contribute to the overall system architecture and technical design of the solution
• Ensure proper documentation of models and solutions to support knowledge transfer to the client’s internal teams
• Work collaboratively within an agile setup alongside developers, architects, and business stakeholders
• Evaluate model performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency to ensure optimal outcomes

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience in Data Science and Machine Learning (typically 5+ years expected at senior level)
• Proven hands-on expertise with Microsoft Azure AI/ML services, especially for LLM-based implementations
• Strong proficiency in Python and relevant AI/ML frameworks
• Experience handling both structured and unstructured data
• Solid understanding of model evaluation techniques, performance metrics, and cost considerations
• Prior experience delivering customer-facing AI/chatbot or algorithm-driven solutions
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and structured manner
• Experience working in or with the public sector

Preferred (Meritorious) Skills:

• Background in the energy or electricity industry
• Experience with MLOps practices and deploying models into production environments
• Capability to deliver as part of a consulting team (supplier-led team delivery)
• Exposure to customer-centric digital service development

Education Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field
