Vehicle Manager / Mechanic
Description
About Us
Nilsbuss is a family-owned bus company operating in Småland. We run scheduled routes, school transport, local transit, and charter services with a fleet that includes buses and other vehicles from brands such as Mercedes, Setra, Ford, Neoplan, and more. We are now looking for a mechanic with overall responsibility for our vehicles in the Vimmerby area.
About the Position
We are seeking you who are a mechanic at heart and want to take on broader responsibility for our vehicle fleet in the Vimmerby area. The role combines practical workshop tasks with planning and administration – you handle both the wrench and the calendar.
In the workshop, you perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs – everything from chassis, bodywork, and interior to engine and drivetrain. You also work with aftermarket systems such as Wi-Fi and payment systems. Major repairs and contract-based service intervals are handled by external workshops, but you plan and administer these.

• Perform maintenance, servicing, and repairs on buses and other vehicles
• Troubleshoot and fix mechanical and basic electrical issues
• Plan and administer maintenance and workshop visits with external suppliers
• Purchase spare parts and consumables

• Be responsible for tidiness and organization in the workshop
• Act as a technical resource person in the area
Who Are You?
You have vehicle technical education and work experience as a mechanic, preferably with heavy vehicles. You are comfortable with basic vehicle electronics and have good computer skills – experience with diagnostic equipment and work order management is a plus. You are proficient in Swedish in both speech and writing.
As a person, you value quality, order, and precision. You are flexible, cooperative, and cost-conscious – and you want to contribute to a positive development in the workplace.
