Teacher in compulsory school grades 6-9; mathematics/science

Asken Independent School has been operating since the autumn of 2000. From the autumn of 2016, the school expanded to become a grades 4-9 school with after-school care, having previously been a grades 6-9 school. The school has 326 students in grades 4-9 and is located in the naturally beautiful Sundby Park right next to Lake Mälaren. Asken Independent School's profile is to work according to the portfolio method, which aims to continuously monitor students' knowledge development. Students are involved in the entire process, from planning to evaluation, each student becomes an expert in their own learning and becomes the natural main character in the student-led development dialogues. The school conducts development work in the subject of mathematics with scheduled pedagogical meetings every week for all mathematics teachers. This initiative will continue next school year as well.

This autumn, the school will inaugurate its preparation kitchen and have a kitchen master responsible for the preparation.

In the autumn of 2026, the school will also launch a sports profile for team gymnasts under the leadership of the physical education teachers who are accredited instructors.

Education

You hold relevant education, subject competence, and/or experience. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and desire to work in active learning with the computer as a pedagogical tool. Subjects you will teach include mathematics but also additional subjects depending on qualification; science, biology, chemistry, physics, technology.

You will be part of a team where you together plan, implement, and develop the teaching. Students are the primary focus and an important part of your role is to inspire, motivate, and support students in their academic and social development. We use the portfolio method to give our students good tools to reach as far as possible in their development.
