Support Person for Women's Shelter

We at the Victoria women's shelter are looking for a part-time employee.

The work includes supporting people who contact us in various ways; the support we provide can be in the form of conversations and practical assistance.

We need a person who is also good at applying for grants, engaging in conversations with politicians, and advocating for our voice. It is important to be able to collaborate with both social services, other non-profit associations, and authorities.

It is crucial that you understand the issues surrounding intimate partner violence; we prefer that you have some form of education in this area. As a person, you need to be secure, stable, and a good listener. We meet and support many different types of people, so you need to be perceptive and able to adapt your approach based on the situation.

You need to be able to work two fixed days a week when our counseling service is open.

We are looking for you who:

¤ Are passionate about people who have been subjected to intimate partner violence.

¤ Are skilled even when it comes to administration.

¤ Can set and understand boundaries between personal and private matters.

¤ Accept that the position is 50% and cannot be expanded.

¤ Are satisfied with the salary set for the position.

Desirable knowledge and experiences:

¤ Knowledge of IPV (Intimate Partner Violence) from previous work.

¤ Knowledge of project applications.

Employment conditions:

¤ The employment is a project-based position for up to two years

¤ The position is 50%, with a salary of 15500 SEK/month

¤ An extract from the criminal record will be requested.

Our national organization, Unizon, continuously works to make our issues visible. There will be opportunities for various types of training that can strengthen your competence in the field.
