Description

Do you want to make a difference every day through the food you prepare? At I Ur och Skur School Skarpnäck, you have the opportunity to work in an operation where sustainability, food joy, and children's learning are at the center. With us, the cook is an important part of the operation and an involved adult in the children's daily life. We are looking for you who are passionate about your mission and want to help develop school meals together with us.

About I Ur och Skur School Skarpnäck

I Ur och Skur School Skarpnäck is a small school with 45 students and 9 adults. The school's kitchen also prepares meals for one of our preschools with 27 children and 6 adults. In the kitchen, approximately 87 portions are prepared daily.

With us, learning, health, and sustainable development are closely connected. We work based on our dietary policy for a sustainable lifestyle and development, where food is an important part of the children's daily life and learning.

The I Ur och Skur pedagogy permeates our operation. Nature is a natural learning environment, and the children spend a large part of the day outdoors, year-round. Teaching and activities alternate indoors and outdoors, and for much of the year, the children eat their meals outside. For us, food is part of care, community, and learning, and the cook therefore has an important role in the overall operation.

Food is prepared from scratch with good ingredients. We extensively use organic and/or locally grown products, Swedish meat, and dairy products from Swedish milk producers. We want to offer food that follows the seasons and makes creative and flavorful use of vegetables, cabbage, and root vegetables.

We see the meal as more than food on a plate. It is also part of the children's learning, where we want to spark curiosity, food joy, and a desire to try new flavors. Outdoor cooking, outdoor days, and sustainability issues are natural parts of our operation, and here the cook has an important role.

About the position

As a cook with us, you are responsible for the operation's kitchen and have an important role in the daily work. You work independently with planning, preparation, orders, and budget, but are also part of the overall operation and the children's learning.
