About the Assignment

We are seeking a Senior Backend Developer with strong technical expertise and experience in technical leadership for a long-term assignment at a public organization within critical societal infrastructure.

You will work in an agile, cross-functional team responsible for the development, operation, and further development of systems in traffic information and journey planning. The systems handle large volumes of data in real-time and integrate with multiple internal and external platforms.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend solutions in a complex system environment
• Act as a technical leader in the team
• Work across the entire lifecycle: design, development, testing, deployment, and operation
• Contribute to CI/CD, test automation, and build pipelines
• Ensure stable, scalable, and high-performance solutions
• Collaborate with product owners, UX, mobile developers, and other specialists

Technical Environment

• Java (primary), as well as Golang and .NET
• Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure + on-premises
• Docker, Kubernetes, microservices
• CI/CD pipelines and automated testing
• Infrastructure as code
• Integrations and data-intensive systems

We Are Looking for You Who

• Has several years of experience in backend development with Java
• Has experience in technical leadership or a lead developer role
• Has worked in DevOps environments and understands the entire delivery flow
• Has experience with cloud services (AWS/Azure)
• Is accustomed to working with scalable systems and high data volumes
• Is communicative and thrives in collaboration with various competencies

Meritorious

• Experience with real-time systems
• Experience from larger organizations or the public sector
• Knowledge in traffic information, mobility, or similar domains

Work Method & Environment

You will become part of a team of about 13 people with broad competencies in development, testing, UX, and product. The team works agilely with DevOps responsibility and has close collaboration with other specialist roles within the organization.
