The Forest Upper Secondary School, Forest Economics Upper Secondary School, and Hunting Upper Secondary School are offered within the Natural Resource Use Program focusing on forestry, where students gain knowledge in modern forestry and digital technology. Theoretical studies are combined with simulator training and operation of real machines on training grounds and in the forest. Students at the Hunting Upper Secondary School acquire in-depth knowledge of various hunting methods and game and wildlife management. At the Forest Economics Upper Secondary School, students delve into areas such as economics and forest management, while at the Forest Upper Secondary School, greater emphasis is placed on machine operation, and students also learn to operate harvesters. Our students gain competencies to work in forestry as machine operators, forest caretakers, entrepreneurs, or to continue studies towards forest manager, forestry technician, game manager, wildlife handler, or other higher education.

Your Responsibilities

The role involves theoretical and practical teaching in modern forestry. Teaching forest machine operation is a central part. It may also include teaching courses such as forest management and chainsaw use.

A central part of the work is using digital systems and tools in teaching and documentation. Responsibilities also include mentorship, with activities such as development discussions and parent contacts. Together with students, colleagues, and management, and in collaboration with the forestry industry, you drive the education forward. Älvdalens Utbildningscentrum is involved in several exciting development projects within forestry and forest management.
