Wallberg School is a non-profit, Montessori-inspired independent school operated as a non-profit association. We have approximately 240 students from preschool class to grade 9. We prioritize small student groups with a maximum of 24 students per class across ten classes, creating good conditions for safety, study peace, and close relationships. Our after-school program includes about 120 students and is an important part of the school's holistic view on learning and development. The school is located in a beautiful natural environment at Slottsmöllan, providing excellent opportunities for outdoor education and an inspiring work environment.

Description of the position:
You will work as a special education teacher at the school, primarily in the upper secondary level. Your duties include the following:
● contribute special education expertise as support in pedagogical work and in the overall planning of student health services.
● conduct and support staff in conducting and analyzing various types of pedagogical assessments at the group level.
● conduct assessments with individual students as needed.
● conduct pedagogical investigations at the individual, group, and school level.
● design and implement intervention programs in collaboration with educators, students, and guardians.
● offer guidance and consultation to staff, work teams, and guardians as needed.
● actively participate in identifying, analyzing, and removing obstacles and causes of difficulties in teaching and learning environments to meet all students' needs,
● work individually with students who, based on assessments, show a need for special support and/or special education interventions.
● participate in individual meetings with guardians, mentors, the principal, or other student health personnel when needed, such as during enhanced development dialogues.
● administration of learning portals and other digital platforms.
The position involves close collaboration with other professions in the student health team and the principal, as well as being available to staff, student health services, and the principal.
You have experience in systematic quality work and are accustomed to mentoring staff both in systematic quality work and in everyday pedagogical matters. The assignment includes close collaboration with the principal, work teams, and other staff in both strategic and operational work. It is important to note that the position involves both a special education and a special needs teaching assignment.
You are courageous, creative, and good at finding various solutions while being able to challenge and listen to different perspectives. You are a clear team player and collaborate closely with colleagues at Wallberg School to create a safe and developing learning environment for students. You have the ability to make independent decisions based on the student's best interests within the framework of current legislation, governing documents, routines, and the organization's guidelines. You have good knowledge of the Education Act and other regulations and a clear understanding of your assignment. You put students in focus!
Experience in special education work is considered meritorious.
