Vägvalet HVB is now seeking a care educator on a full-time basis who wants to take an active responsibility in the work of creating safety, stability, and a functioning daily life for our youth.

About the Position

We work with youth aged 16–21 who are in need of a clear, safe, and structured environment.

As a care educator, you are a central part of the operation and an important part of the treatment work, with a focus on care and daily functioning. You work closely with the youth in their daily lives and in close collaboration with therapists responsible for the structured treatment.

The work places high demands on independence, responsibility-taking, and the ability to create structure in daily life.

The position involves scheduled working hours with overnight shifts and on-call sleep duties, as well as work during the day, evening, and weekends.

Your Duties

- Create a safe, stable, and predictable environment for the youth

- Actively work with structure, routines, and daily functioning

- Be a clear and safe adult in the daily work

- Work with a low-affect, consistent, and respectful approach

- Be part of the treatment work through the daily work with the youth

- Collaborate closely with therapists and other staff

- Document according to the operation's routines

In the practical work, this also includes:

- Cooking and meals

- Cleaning and maintenance of the living environment

- Grocery shopping

- Maintenance of youth rooms and common areas

- Responsibility for the condition and comfort of the house

- Medication management

Qualifications

To function in the role, we see that you have:

- Post-secondary education in social work, pedagogy, or behavioral science, or other education that the employer deems equivalent

- Previous experience working with youth or in settings where structure, boundary-setting, and relationship-building are central

- Experience working in environments that demand clarity, stability, and responsibility-taking

- Good ability to communicate and create trusting relationships

- Ability to work independently and make decisions in daily life

Meritorious:

- Experience working within HVB, supported housing, or similar operations
